Funeral service for Mrs. Hazel Irene Hammontree Bonner, 82, of Monroe, LA, formerly of Sterlington will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday May 2, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Jamie Bonner officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bonner was born on April 7, 1925, and passed away peacefully on April 30, 2007, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA; and was the co-owner operator of Bonner Truck Stop for many years.
Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her parents, Gracie McVay Hammontree of Newton, MS, and Brief Hammontree of Arkansas; W. E. “Pete” Bonner, Husband of forty-nine years; son, Thomas Wyly Bonner; and sister, Jimmy Sue Hale Bienz.
Survivors include her son, W. E. “Junior” Bonner and wife Cindy of Monroe, LA; sister, Noahlene Jones and husband Bob of Bossier City, LA; brother, Sammy Hammontree and wife Shelia of Marshall, TX; four grandchildren, Lisa Bonner Toney and husband Patrick “Bo” of Monroe, LA; Thomas Wyly “Ladd” Bonner and wife Christie of Gulfport, MS; Brandi Bonner Sanders and husband Brandon of Monroe, LA; and Bethany Bonner Trichel and husband Vance of Monroe, LA; six great grandchildren, Tara Taylor, Erin Taylor, Bailey Toney, Jerard Toney, Hannah Bonner and Abby Bonner; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hale, Terry Hale, Jim Bonner, Robbie Jones, Harvey Bonner, and Gary Bonner. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Miletello, Clint Wycoff, Huey Bonner, Andy Jones, and Bob Jones.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
