Hattie Marie Watson

Funeral Services for Hattie Marie Watson will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 13, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Watson was born February 24, 1935, and passed away on February 10, 2017. Hattie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Monroe, where she was instrumental in obtaining the American flag and flag pole for the church grounds, placing a new baby grand piano in the parlor and securing the memorial wall of crosses. She was a member and former president of the Ed Stinson Sunday school class, the Vera Jordan Circle and Cultura book club. She was a 1953 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School where she was both a maid and queen on the homecoming court. She was also retired from the Boles Law Firm.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Watson, her beloved grandson, Ryan Moody, her parents, Lou and Jack Johnson, sisters, Mamie J. Barnes, Leonia Johnson, Ruby J. Carpenter and Susie Sikes, brothers, William B. Johnson, Norman L. Johnson, Percy L. Johnson and S.J. Johnson.
Survivors include: daughter, Terri W. Scheffler, husband, Randall Scheffler of N. Augusta, SC; Beloved Great Grand Children, Chloe and James of Frisco, TX; special nieces, Pat B. Morse, Kay C. Venable and Dawn Fowlkes and numerous other special nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Fowlkes, Andy Canoy, Jake Greer, Alex Sikes, Mark Sikes and David Fowlkes. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bill Johnson, Lanny Johnson, Hollis Venable and Jerry Sikes.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until service time on Monday at First United Methodist Church, West Monroe.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1411 Glenwood Drive, West Monroe, LA, 71291.
