Harvey Wayne Arrant, born September 24, 1940, to the union of L.E. and Oma McCain Arrant, passed from this life on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 82. He was a long-time employee of Riverwood International as a foreman in the machine room. He loved to hunt, fish, raise cattle and especially camping after retirement. He served as president on the Southwest Ouachita Water Works Board. He was a lifelong member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and served in several capacities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Boyce and AnnaLou Johnson, brother in-law Teddy Johnson, sister-in-law, Gaytha Johnson, son-in-law Ricky Pierce and grandson Justin Beard.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lecolian Johnson Arrant; children Darrell and Denetta Arrant, Gaye Pierce; Kristie and Rocky Johnson; grandchildren Adam and Jonann Arrant, Kristin and Will Hatten, Megan and Dylan Durbyn, Wes and Kenedy Pierce, Anna Beth and Christopher Graham and Parker Johnson; great-grandchildren Taylor VanderPoel, Karlee Hatten, JJ VanderPoel, Levi Durbyn, Adler Arrant, Ford Hatten, Jaxson Beard, Pierce Hatten, and Ace Arrant; brother, Rev. Jim Arrant; sisters, Martha Frame, and Shirley Kelly; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Adam Arrant, Wes Pierce, Will Hatten, Dylan Durbyn, and Christopher Graham; friends, Steve Hatten, Scott Saterfiel, and Wayne Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Joe Carter, Bo Wilkes, Walter Kelley, Walter Stapleton and Ronnie Massey.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday February 22, 2023 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Everett Geis, Sr., Rev. Jim Arrant, and Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Personal family comments will be made by Rocky Johnson and Wes Pierce. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
