Funeral services for Harry Kane Hubenthal, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. Job Edathinatt Scaria officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hubenthal passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born December 5, 1930, in Shawnee, OK, to Harry Kelly and Edna Hubenthal. He attended Northeast Louisiana University, where he lettered in football under Coach Jim Malone. He had a successful sales career in the industrial packaging industry where he was responsible for a corrugated box design that was also patented. After retiring, Mr. Hubenthal married Tommie Sue Sartor Hubenthal, and they were married for 19 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Derdeyn and husband Bob; and his loving wife of 41 years, Sue Windes Hubenthal.
Survivors include his wife, Tommie Sue, and her children and grandchildren; daughter, Ginger Hubenthal Padgett and husband Cole; sons, Kelly Gerard Hubenthal and wife Joie, Harry Eugene Hubenthal; grandchildren, Andrew Hunter Hubenthal and his wife Ashley, Taylor Kane Hubenthal, and Kelly Webb Hubenthal; and great-grandson, Cully Hedge Hubenthal.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Patrick J. Riley, J. B. Landry, John Wesley Bryant, J. William Kight, Fred Williams Sartor, Bradley R. Adair, and John Stewart Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. James L. Padgett, Herschel A. Gentry, Jr., Richard H. Pipes, Carl Tidwell, and Darryl Lawless.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s and his personal caregivers, especially, Don Smith, Gillette Anderson, and the late Shannon Slack, for the love they bestowed upon Mr. Hubenthal.
