Funeral services for Harry John Zaunbrecher, 80, of Jones, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Norsworthy and Rev. Lijo Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.Mr. Zaunbrecher died Sunday, September 14, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He farmed rice and soybeans in Jones, LA. He worked hard all of his life and was very proud of his farm. He was loved by many friends whom he enjoyed hunting with. He was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary every day. He was a third degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He served in the United States Army.Mr. Zaunbrecher was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Phillip and Barbara Frey Zaunbrecher; and his brothers, Raymond, Edmond and Vincent Zaunbrecher.Survivors include wife, Lucy Zaunbrecher; son, Todd Zaunbrecher; daughters, Melissa Zaunbrecher and Barbara McKenzie; granddaughter, Lucy McKenzie; sisters, Bertha Breaux, Agusta Bollich, Ramona Petry and husband Reno, Carolyn Guidry and husband Avert, Barbara Leonard and husband William, Jackie Francios and husband Allen; and brothers, Wayne Zaunbrecher and wife Linda, Floyd Zaunbrecher and wife Cena Mae.Pallbearers will be Gary Guidry, John Breaux, Jeff Zaunbrecher, Gerald Zaunbrecher, Kirk Zaunbrecher, and Damian Bollich. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Zaunbrecher, Barry Petry, Nick Francios, Vincent Zaunbrecher, and Mark Petry.Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Vigil Wake at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
