Funeral services for Harlan Humphries, 78, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel in Monroe with Rev. Gerald Lewis and Rev. Bill Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Humphries was born March 28, 1938 and passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center. He graduated from Ouachita High School in 1956 where he was a Drum Major in the band. He attended Louisiana Tech for two years at which time he played the trombone with the Debonaires Band. Mr. Humphries received his MBA from Northeast Louisiana University. He was a certified public accountant for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of Swartz First Assembly of God where he played the organ. Mr. Humphries was also a United States Air Force Veteran where he served as a member of the secret service. While serving in the Air Force he attended Syracuse University where he learned the Russian and German languages. Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by his parents Jake Humphries and Mary Lou Herring Humphries.Survivors include his wife of over 50 years Delores Humphries, son Gregory Harlan Humphries and numerous cousins.
