Guy "Rusty" Owens, Jr.

Funeral Service for Mr. Guy “Rusty” Owens, Jr., of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 17, 2018, at Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Bro. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Rusty was born September 6, 1946 and passed away December 13, 2018. He retired from Graphic Packaging after over 40 years. Rusty enjoyed his tractors, bulldozers, his cows and loved baling hay. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He was also affectionately known as “Spiffy”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy R. Owens, Sr. and Billie Sue Mock and Sidney Mock; mother of his children, Maryann Wilhite Owens; niece, Leslie Mock; and son-in-law, John T. Brown, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Diana Lawn Owens; children, Guy R. Owens, III and wife Cindy, Jennifer Fitzgerald and husband Jason, and Jamie Brown; stepchildren, Kay Owen and husband Darin, Blake Gaston and wife Shannon, Jill Harter and husband Mark, and Kelley Bonner and husband Scott; grandchildren, Misty, Justin, Owen, Ellie, Kaylyn, Jake, Jessica, Ashley, Austin, Webb, Boone, Chevy, Eli, Claire, Kate, Olivia, Ginny and Jeff; four great grandchildren; brothers, Steven Owens and wife Charlotte, and Tim Mock; sister, Shirley Moroni and husband Bill; brother-in-law, Jimbo Lawn and wife Alta; sister-in-law, Kathy Vollmar and husband Ron; special niece, Ashlyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Billy Jo Moroni, John Moroni, Randy Moroni, Kenny Moroni, Austin Nadler and Blake Gaston.

Honorary Pallbearers will be K.L. Stennett, Sonny Phillips, Mickey Evans, Robert Guess, Sonny Williams and coworkers at Graphic Packaging.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
