Gloria Dean Lowrey

Funeral services for Ms. Gloria Dean Lowrey, 68, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time Thursday, August 1, 2024, at New Light Baptist Church.

Gloria was born August 1, 1955, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on July 29, 2024, in her home surrounded by family. She liked spending time working in her flower beds, gardening, decorating her home and going with her sisters cruising or spending time on a beach. Her love was spending time with her grandchildren. Gloria was a member of New Light Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Mary Porter; son, Denny Lowrey; brother, Buster Porter; and sister, Sissy Porter. 

Survivors include her two sons, Brandon Lowrey (Krysta) and Chad Lowrey (Jessica Bradshaw); three sisters, Sheila Poole (Todd), Donna Kappenman, and Kathy Porter; brother, Donald “Bubba” Porter (Katie); grandchildren, Trent, Caden, Rydder, Denny K., Brody, Eli, Huck, and Ivan; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and family members. 

Pallbearers will be Brandon Moody, Trey Fluitt, Jeff Lowrey, Darrell Porter, Frank Mushinski, and Andy Brewer. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Rydder and Caden Lowrey and Rooster Oliveaux.
