Gloria Faye Hattaway, 92, was born May 1, 1931, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed suddenly June 9, 2023.
She had a lengthy career as a paralegal and notary for several attorneys with firms in the Twin Cities, later working as office manager at S-Bar-L trailers in West Monroe. She also worked for many years with the Monroe City School Board as a clerical administrator in their transportation and maintenance division, where she eventually retired. Faye was a devout Christian and was active with various churches in Northeast Louisiana throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling and attending music festivals/campgrounds, reading, watching her Westerns, and diligently working on her crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Allen Hefley and Dennis Hattaway; daughter, Teresa Ann McCormick; grandchildren, John Shannon and Ashley Rachelle; parents, John and Mary Calhoun; and siblings, Sadie, James, Byron, Brisbane, Louis Homer, Jack, and Alfred Calhoun.
Faye is survived by son-in-law and caregiver, James Edwin McCormick; grandsons, Christopher Brandon McCormick and Anthony Justin McCormick and fiancé, Ashley Lee; great grandson, Jayden Christopher McCormick; great granddaughters, Maura and Lilly Lee; sister-in-law, Margaret Calhoun; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Johnny Weathersby.
Faye’s family would like to take this time to acknowledge the staff of Glenwood Home Health and Sanson Family Medicine for their care and help over the last several months.
