Gloria Jean Dickens

Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Jean Dickens, 78, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Lindle Stewart and Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at New Light Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Dickens was born on August 24, 1945, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on February 18, 2024, in Chatham, LA.  She worked for Brookshires for many years in the bakery as a Cake Decorator. She was a faithful member of New Light Baptist Church. She loved spending her time with her family, and her precious fur baby, Dudley. While we will miss her greatly, we know she is reunited with the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, Tom Dickens. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaines Palmer and Beatrice Evelyn Jones; husband, Thomas Rudolph Dickens; and sister, Martha Squires.  

Survivors include her children, Shelia Evans (Joey), Tommy Dickens (Angela), Samantha Pardue (Bubba); grandchildren, Brandon Casey (Krystal), Chandyce Paulman (Carl), Brandi Dickens, Darren Guess (Lacy), Matt Casey, Clint Dickens, Savannah Hipp (Taylor), Breanna Ray, Taylor Dickens, Elizabeth Kate Pardue, Victoria Pardue, and Tre Pardue; great grandchildren, Cole, Colt, Colby, Carl Nathan, Aida, Harper, Conlee, Brooks, Brody, Gabby, Holden, Kalynn, and Kinsley; brother-in-law, Bill Dickens; and niece, Veronica Squires. 

Pallbearers will be Brandon Casey, Darren Guess, Matt Casey, Clint Dickens, Taylor Hipp and Tre Pardue. Honorary pallbearers will be Colt Casey, Cole Casey, Colby Casey, and Carl Paulman.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
