Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria D. Carr, 81, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2009, at First United Methodist Church of Monroe with Rev. JoAnn Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Carr was born on May 11, 1928 and passed away Monday, May 25, 2009. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Carr was co-owner and receptionist of Carr Supply Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. “Jack” Carr; and her parents, H.R. and Marie Dickerson.
Mrs. Carr is survived by her children, Gary Carr, Ronald Carr and wife Cheryl, and her devoted daughter and caregiver, Linda Carr; grandchildren, Christopher Carr, Heather Moss and husband Jeremiah, and Brittany Carr; great grandchild, Isaiah Moss; her beloved sister, Kitty Colbert and husband Don; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Powers and husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Allen, Jim Boudreau, Laymon Godwin, Dan Colbert, Robert Powell, and Chris Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Anna Gray Noe Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Monroe Building Fund.
