Matthew 4:19, Jesus said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Glenn Thomas Murphy has laid down his nets and fishing poles to become a fisher amongst men in Heaven. He passed away at his home in Calhoun, La., on Sunday, May 31, 2015, with his loving family by his side. Glenn Murphy was a loving and compassionate Husband, Father, Brother, Grandparent, Uncle, Friend and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Glenn was born on April 28, 1941, in West Monroe, La., to Woodrow and Alice Murphy.Glenn was a graduate of NLU and a retiree of General Motors with 35 years of service. He was an active church member of Community Baptist Church in West Monroe, La. He thoroughly enjoyed being involved with his family, church, fishing and gardening. Glenn is survived by his beautiful wife, Saundra Murphy; loving children, Tommy (Kim) Murphy, Tammy (Gary) Thomas, Tony (Ingrid) Murphy, Toby (Christal) Murphy, Sonya Murphy and boyfriend, Michael De La Rosa, and Casey (Kenny) Gordon; brothers, James (Theresa) Murphy, Charles Ray (Linda) Murphy, Wayne (Kathy) Murphy; sister, Carol Sue Murphy, sister-in-law, Barbara Murphy and a number of wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Murphy; sister, Debbie Murphy and son, Timmy Murphy.Visitation will be held for family and friends at the Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 1, 2015.
