Born on April 22, 1950 in Rayville, LA, Glenn Edward “Eddie” Pierce, 72, lifelong resident of Richland Parish, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 12, 2022 in Rayville, LA.
Eddie, as most people knew him, was a charismatic, dedicated, deliberate, and thoughtful man of integrity. Dependable and capable, one always felt like Eddie was listening and that he would provide great support or advice when needed. He made those who knew him feel welcome, cared for, and valued.
An electrician by trade, Eddie worked in cotton gins as a systems integrator. He loved nature, good food—especially sweets, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was dexterous and would fully invest in his hobbies, whether they involved working on a sailboat, tinkering on his motorcycle, tending to his bonsais, or making sawdust. He enjoyed meditation and quiet contemplation. For years, he assisted and supported his wife Kathy in making Rainbow Gardens and Nursery the place it is today.
He is preceded in death by his parents, T.C. and Maudie Pierce, and brother Darwin Wade Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathleen Pierce of Rayville, LA; his children—Edward Cornell Pierce and wife Lydia of Rayville, LA, and Helen Christina Tradewell and husband Kevin of Rayville, LA; three grandchildren—Maudie Jean Tradewell, Alma Isabel Pierce, and Darwin Cornell Pierce; as well as his siblings—Therrell Pierce and wife Barbara of Alexandria, LA, Ledatha Pierce of Monroe, LA, Sam Pierce and wife Reva of Swartz, LA, Randy Pierce and wife, Jane of Start, LA, Gordon Pierce and wife Ginger of Start, LA. Rhonda Pierce Clack and husband Chuck of Rayville, LA., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations for Richland Parish Council on Aging and flowers are welcome and appreciated.
