Glenn Cockrell

Glenn Cockrell, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born November 2, 1936, in Bastrop where he attended school. He was the owner of Cockrell Plumbing Company.

Services will be held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe at 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt of North Monroe Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Glenn had a large circle of friends and family and strongly believed in treating his customers fairly. He always enjoyed the simple things of life.

He is survived by his two sons, Ronnie Cockrell and wife Toni and Tommy Cockrell both of Monroe, LA; granddaughters, Hailey Frey of Austin, TX and Aubry Cockrell of Austin, TX; brothers, Brent Cockrell and wife Cheryl of Lafayette, LA and Keith Cockrell and wife Pam of Florence, MS. Also surviving Glenn are two devoted friends, Joe Casiday and Mike Smith who enriched his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joy Goodnight Cockrell; daughter, Terri Cockrell Brown; parents, David and Mary Alice Cockrell; sister, Yvonne Pugh Vandrese; and brother, Jack Cockrell.

Serving as pallbearers are Joe Casiday, Mike Smith, Norman Bennett, Terry Huckabee, Dale Wyant, and Donald Lovelady. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Paulus, Cliff Hart, Don Turner, Charley Mathis, Timmy Edwards, Virgil Watson, Jack Kane, Jeff Powell, and members of the Delton Dearman Life Group class at North Monroe Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.

Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund.
