Glen Allen Morgan was born August 12, 1938, in Wisner, Louisiana and passed away at his Monroe home with family members.
His service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at First Methodist Church on Loop Road. People may visit in the parlor from 1:00 – 2:00 with the service beginning at 2:00.
LTC Morgan retired as a U.S. Army Military Intelligence officer in 1983 and then founded the JROTC program in Richland Parish School System, from which he also retired.
Prior to his Alzheimer’s diagnoses, he was active with organizations such as Senior Special Olympics, MOWW, and MOAA.
He is survived by daughters, Cynthia Morgan Brennan, Slidell and Denise Morgan, Monroe, grandchildren, Lance Corporal Dakota Syrovy, Slidell, Allie Doss, Monroe, Jennifer Morgan, Monroe, Morgan Rainey, Lafayette, Carrie Rainey, New Orleans, and grandchildren Heidi Morgan, McKinlynn Hall, and Bradley Duty, all from Monroe. He is also survived by brothers Bruce Morgan, Wisner, John Phillip Morgan, Geismar, and Jerry Morgan, Walker.
Glen is predeceased by his wife, Nelda Morgan, his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. The family wants to thank all of his medical staff, with special gratitude to Elara Home Health and Hospice services whose support allowed us to take care of him at home until the end, letting him blow kisses to his great granddaughter the evening before he finished his earthly adventure.
