Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth McGee Brownlee passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center. Born April 26, 1914, she was 96 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Curtis Brownlee on December 8, 1969.
Gladys owned and operated Perfection Rubber Stamp Company. She was a founding member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She belonged to Quota Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, P.E.O., and other religious, social and professional organizations. Gladys was a friend to all.
Survivors include her son, Joe Allen Brownlee and his wife Diane Terry Brownlee of Garden Grove, California; a granddaughter, Lisa Brownlee Herndon and her husband Joshua John Herndon of San Diego, California; and two great grandchildren, Julia Audrey Herndon and Blake Joshua Herndon. Also survived by numerous extended family members.
Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery on East Highway 80 at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, with the Memorial Service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1901 Milton Street, Monroe at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Pastor John T. Mabray and The Reverend Craig Morgan of League City, Texas. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
