Funeral services for Gladys Harrington Johnson, 75, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 2, 2010, at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Pyles officiating. Interment will be at Carter Cemetery in Collinston, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, after a brief battle with cancer. She was the co-owner of Drake Energy and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Her main interests in life were family and her church.

Mrs. Johnson was born to Samuel and Katherine Byargeon Montgomery, who preceded her in death along with her husband, Samuel Guy Harrington.

Survivors include her husband, Preston Johnson; son, Sonny Harrington III of Monroe; sister, Mary White of Rayville; sister-in-law, Jennie Harrington of Collinston, LA; granddaughters, Hannah Anderson and Holly Harrington; grandson, Samuel Guy Harrington IV; great granddaughter, Alanna Anderson; niece, Katie Williams of Rayville; nephew, John White of Rayville; mother-in-law, Helen Johnson of Monroe; brother-in-law, Norman Johnson of Birmingham, AL; step children, Sherri Edgar of Baton Rouge, LA, Shane Johnson and wife Lucinda of Prairieville, LA, and Shelly Johnson of Winnsboro, LA; step grandchildren, Joshua Edgar, Jacob Edgar, Cade Johnson, Ryann Johnson, and Reece Johnson; and special friend, Barbara Roberts.

Pallbearers will be John White, Paul Mallett, Norman Johnson, Shane Johnson, Tommy Phillips, and Clint Wycoff. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Hale, Walter Pierron, and Kermit Beardon.

Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Memorial United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church or the Ouachita Parish Public Library.
