Gladys Othell Beard

Private Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys Othell Beard, 93, of Winnsboro, LA, were held in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Interment was held at Crowville Masonic Cemetery.

Mrs. Beard was born August 26, 1931, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2024. She was a loving, hard working lady that could be classy or put her rubber boots on and hit the fields. Mrs. Beard was fun to be around, always cracking jokes and trying to scare you. She was employed with Walmart for 28 years in the communications and technical support division. Mrs. Beard worked several years at Sears in Winnsboro. She was a beautician for a few years. Mrs. Beard was a cattle farmer and worked in real estate for a short time. 

Mrs. Beard attended Alto Church of Christ when she was able. She loved God and her church family. Mrs. Beard enjoyed talking to people and making sure they have their heart right with Jesus. She loved cooking and entertaining people. Mrs. Beard enjoyed quilting and landscaping as well as painting. She liked going to McDonald’s. One of her favorite pastimes was going to estate sales.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ed Beard; and her parents, Denson Carroll and Melissa Peavy Carroll.

She leaves numerous family members and friends to cherish her memory.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
