On Friday, September 14, 2018, at Glenwood Hospital, while surrounded by family and friends, Ginger Lee Collins Barron, 69, passed from her earthly life into eternity with her Heavenly Father.
Ginger was born on February 18, 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Monroe/West Monroe. She was the oldest of seven children born to William (Bill) and Alice Collins.
Ginger was Co-Owner of Ken’s Coffee Service and an avid tennis player. She loved everyone but mostly her family and her many, many friends. Other than doing nice things for all of her family and spending time with friends; her favorite things to do included motorcycle trips and Pensacola Beach trips with her husband Barry. She was always so beautiful in every way.
Ginger is preceded in death by her father, William A. (Bill) Collins, Sr., brothers, William A. (Bill) Collins, Jr., Dan Henry (Danny) Collins, Gary Alan Collins and brother-in-law, James Scott Howell, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Barry Barron and “The boys” Charlie and Yoda, mother, Alice Henry Collins, sisters, Judy Collins Howell, Kay Collins Newman and husband Neil, Susan Collins Simoneaux and husband Wade, sister-in-law, Karen McQueen Collins, brother-in-law, Richard Barron and wife Patsy, business partner for 40 years and dear friend, Ken Cook and wife Ann, and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be a memorial visitation at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe this Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 5-7 P.M.
In honoring Ginger’s pre-documented request: Family, friends and others whose lives Ginger touched are all invited to a Life Celebration Party at 111 COTTON, located at 111 Cotton Street (Old Strand Theatre) Downtown West Monroe, in Antique Alley, this Saturday, September 22, 2018, 6:30-9:30 P.M. with Ginger’s favorite music, dancing, open bar and hot/cold hors d’oeuvres.
