Gilberto Velasquez

Funeral services for Gilberto Velasquez, 65, of Sterlington, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 31, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Chris Beshea officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill, LA.

Mr. Velasquez passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church and retired store manager of Fair Mark in Sterlington, LA. Mr. Velasquez was a disabled United States Air Force Veteran.

Mr. Velasquez was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe and Nicholasa Velasquez;  sister, Mary Gonzales; brothers-in-law, Billy Beshea and Billy Keeling; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Martin and Betty Eason.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Beshea Velasquez; daughter, Angela R. Velasquez; son, Dana A. Velasquez (Debra); three grandchildren, Micheal Passerrello, Brittany Velasquez, and Alysha Velasquez; sisters, Alicia Monjarez, Olivia Engi, Yolanda Chavarria, Gloria Medina, Maria Alma Velasquez, Patricia Nunez, Penny Wilcox, Susanna Guerra, and Alejandra Rodriguez; brothers, Caesar Velasquez and Eduardo Guerra; numerous nieces and nephews, and special family, Cleve Beshea (Beth), Melba Keeling, and Martha Key (Tandy).

Pallbearers will be Charles Eason, Rickey Morris, Terry Morris, Scotty Key, Micheal Passerrello, and Josh Parsley. Honorary pallbearers will be his golfing buddies at Lake D’Arbonne Country Club.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
