Funeral Services for Gerald W. Brown, 87, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:30PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ted Freeland and Rev. Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born on August 21, 1931 and passed away on November 29, 2018. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was recognized for his service on numerous occasions. Mr. Brown was a member of the Claiborne United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee and taught Sunday School. His mission was to help others and he loved the outdoors, fishing and quail hunting. Gerald was a retired Train Master with the AL&M Railroad after 31 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Gladys Brown; and his brother, Travis Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Brown; daughter, Tammie Brown; two grandsons, Joey Gardunio and Alex Gardunio; brothers, Donnie Brown and wife, Sue and Wade Brown and wife, Cathy; sisters-in-law, Faye Hale and Ann Brown; brother-in-law, Jim Lyon; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Miller, Mike Shields, Fred Shields, Dan Varnado, Jimmy Lyon, and Robby McGrew. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen Horn, Ron Hebert, Fred Hill, James Dupree, George Risdale, and Lester Hammons.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe.
