Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Crittenden Golden SR, 89, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Sabin and Jayne Trammell-Kelly officiating. Interment to be in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA.
Mr. Golden passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 at Schumpert Hospital at Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, was the volunteer church landscaper, and was proud of the church’s appearance. He retired as co-owner/manager of Royal Crown Bottling Company of West Monroe. Mr. Golden was a Army Tech Sergeant and served in WWII in the Pacific Campaign and was the receiver of the Silver Star Medal.
Survivors include sons, Gerald Crittenden Golden JR and wife Jan and William Rishell Golden and wife Tina; grandchildren, Christopher Golden and Elizabeth Golden; sisters, Agnes Odom and Gloria Creech; brother, Dixon “Pete” Golden.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Memorial United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA.
