Graveside services for Mr. Gerald Allen McNemar, 79, of Monroe formally of Pelican, LA will be held 10:30 AM Saturday December 27, 2008 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA . Under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.
Gerald was a decorated war hero having proudly served 20 years in the United States Marine Corp. Serving our country in the Korean War at the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir and Multiple tours in Vietnam where he sustained injuries that sent him home. Gerald was a proud American who believed that Freedom was worth fighting for. America has lost a great hero.
Gerald is survived by his four children, Keith McNemar of Texas, Patricia McNelis of California, Debi Panuzzo of Florida and Timothy McNemar of California along with six (6) grandchildren and four (4) great grandchildren. Gerald is also survived by his partner in life of twenty (20) plus years, Miss Vivian Phillips of Monroe, LA.
He is well known for his great story telling, generosity, sincere friendships and grand humor. He will be missed by all who knew him and the country he protected.
Visitation will be Friday December 26, 2008 from 5:00 Pm Until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.
