George Sanford Camp, II

December 5, 1946 — August 24, 2021

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. George Sanford Camp, II, 74, of Rayville, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday September 1, 2021, at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA, with Rev. Gene Benson officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

George was born December 5, 1946, to the union of George Sanford Camp and Bessie Pipes Camp and went to be with his Lord and Savior August 24, 2021.

George was a graduate of West Monroe High School and attended the University of Southwestern in Lafayette, LA. George served in the United States Navy on a nuclear submarine stationed out of Connecticut. He worked as a Master Carpenter in Houston, TX, for a majority of his life.

To know George Camp was to love him. He loved life and shared his life with many friends and his beloved dogs throughout the years. He enjoyed living on the river, fishing whenever he wanted, growing a big garden with his cousin, listening to music, and sharing great stories.

Recently, George expressed that his time in Rayville on the Boeuf River was the most peaceful time of his life. Thank you cousin, forever playmate and almost brother, Roy Ray, for making the last few year of his life most enjoyable.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Randy McLemore and Lee Roy Adair.

Survivors include his two sisters, Mrs. Camille Camp Adair and Mrs. Rita Camp McLemore; Nieces and Nephews, Allison Taylor (Bryan), Bryan Adair (Cheyenne), Molly Blaylock (Michael) and Allan McLemore; special cousins, Roy Ray Heath, Joe Heath, Tom Heath and Janice Heath Spencer; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Ray Heath, Joe Heath, Tom Heath, Sidney McLemore, Larry Neathery, Michael Blaylock, Hank Hamilton, Brant Heath, John Heath, and Ryan Heath.
