Services for Mr. George Russell Coats, 69, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday August 22, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Interment will be in Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Coats was born on January 1, 1942 in West Monroe and passed away on August 19, 2011 in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, C.T. and Lucille Coats, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George G. Johnson and mother-in-law Ruby Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Phillips Coats; daughters, Tracie Coats Walsworth and husband Doug, Theresa Coats Nolan and significant other Lee Hixson, Georgia Coats Pope and husband Jeffrey; sister Sharon Davis and husband Donnie; grandchildren, Jessica Walsworth and fiancée Roy McKinley, Hannah Walsworth, Haleigh Vollmar and Presley Pope; niece, Kristin Davis Conde and husband Corey.
Pallbearers will be Julius Wagoner, Dale McKinley Walter Plummer, Ricky Cody, Ray Whitlock and Jamie Walsworth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Murphy, Durwood Bearden, Jerry (Bubba) McBroom, Sonny Bennett and Bill Pope.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday August 21, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Calhoun, LA.
