George Leo "Bud" Bonnett

Funeral Services for Mr. George Leo “Bud” Bonnett, 93, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. Wallace Ingles officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in Vixen, LA.

Mr. Bonnett was born June 15, 1925, and passed away June 25, 2018. He was a member of Palestine Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Bonnett served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a barber for 60 years. He was an avid squirrel and quail hunter.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ira and Nova Bonnett; his loving wife, Johnnie Faulks Bonnett; and brother, Cleo Bonnett.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Melba Bonnett; special friend, Rhonda Hargrove; and many nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hendrix, Brian Dunn, W.D. Head, Steve Delancy, Tommy Golson and Benny Gewin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Owens, Reggie Owens, B.L. McGrew and Bobby Murphy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
