Funeral services for Mr. George Edward Clingen, Sr., 79, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Todd Wooden and Dr. Vick Carter officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA.
Mr. Clingen passed away Monday, April 28, 2008, at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, and owner of Clingen Construction Co. He enjoyed bowling. Mr. Clingen was preceded in death by his parents, Maze Ivy Clingen and Anna Bell Freeland; and brother, James Clingen.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Braswell Clingen; four sons, Kerry D. Clingen and wife Melinda of West Monroe, Jerry D. Clingen and wife Cassi of Bastrop, George T. Clingen and wife Becky of Pasadena, TX, and George E. (Eddie) Clingen, II of Bastrop; three daughters, Diane Hodges and husband David of Bastrop, Theresa Kuykendall and husband Al of Channelview, TX, and Patricia Monroe and husband David of Houston, TX; three sisters, Rachel Byson, Ella Griffin, and Clara Bell Freeland; two brothers, Lemmie Clingen, and Lee Freeland; twenty-one grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
