Funeral Services for George A. Risdal, 95, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Pastor Brian Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.
Mr. Risdal was born October 13, 1925 and passed away May 18, 2021. He was a longtime member of Claiborne United Methodist Church, and he was co-owner of Todd & Risdal Chevron Station for 30+ years with his late business partner Dan Todd. Mr. Risdal loved working in his garden, tending to his cows, and riding around the pasture. He loved visiting with everyone and talking about the “old days”.
He was a WWII Veteran, serving with the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Risdal.
Survivors include his wife, Claudine Risdal; son, Larry Risdal and wife Sonya; grandson, Erik Risdal and wife Helen; stepdaughters, Sherry Crick and husband John, Nancy Love and Clive Mitchard, and Kathy Daily; brother, Ralph Risdal and wife Jackie; five step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Miller, Tommy Smith, Jack Odom, Luke Saxon, and Bart Hogan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 21, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
