Funeral Services for Gary Scott Tullis, 64, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, October 15, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Michael O’Neal and Rev. Michael Stravato officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Gary Scott Tullis was born September 11, 1954, and passed away October 10, 2018. He was a member of Family Church. Scott had a passion for flying, he made a great international pilot, and he flew for Continental Airlines for 20 years. He was also the owner of Scott’s Self Storage for over 40 years and was also known for being business smart and had an eye for such opportunities. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1972 and from NLU in 1976.
In 1990, he married Lisa Jenkins and four years later Scott’s dream of having a family was made complete with the birth of their son. He retired from Continental Airlines and raised his son and daughter in church. Scott was a loving and devoted father and a great provider for his family. He was a tender hearted grandfather and a loyal son caring for his father and mother.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Elvin Tullis; and mother, Mildred Eubanks Tullis.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Lisa Jenkins Tullis; son, Gary Scott Tullis, II; daughter, Jennifer Anderson Melton and husband Stuart; grandchildren, Andi Grace, Anna Dale and Andon Melton; brother-in-law, Mike Jenkins and wife Anna; nephew, Brandon Jenkins; and niece, Rachel Jenkins.
Pallbearers will be Danny Acree, Ron Scott, Don Richey, Paul Stapp, Eddie Simmons, Randy Walker and Bobby Haisty.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
