Freddie was born on July 17, 1952, in Monroe and passed away on September 18, 2023, in Shreveport, LA. Freddie’s love & support for his family was unwavering, always making them his #1 priority. Raising his daughter and getting to watch his granddaughter grow was his greatest joy, leaving the bond he built between them unbreakable. He absolutely loved being a Poppa, making sure everyone knew it. After working late on Saturday nights, he still couldn’t get to New Orleans fast enough weekend after weekend to be with his family. Freddie instilled his love for music in his daughter, traveling to concerts and weekend trips; Always listening to everything from Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin, The Eagles & The Beegees, to *NSYNC & Bruno Mars.
His Restaurant served the most delicious food to his greatest friends, the community, for over 30 years. Victoria and Nathan were even married there at the front door-family seated in the middle and friends gathered around eating his food like any other night. His early morning coffee talks, lunches, and weekend night antics will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L. V. Cascio and Despena Kokinos Cascio; and brother, Johnny Cascio.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Dispenza (Nathan); granddaughter, Arabella; stepson, Billy Ensminger (Kenia)-Rex; grandchildren, Alex & Aron; stepdaughter, Grasha Rice; sisters, Rosie Cascio, Queenie Cascio, and Marylynn Cascio; brother, Stevie Cascio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank everyone who loved him and supported him throughout his career including his long-time restaurant staff. Thank you for all the calls or text of support throughout this tragic loss. A special thanks to Rosie Cascio for being there when we could not, and to Savana Joneau for whatever we needed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
