Elmo was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and could fix almost anything. He was a hard working, strong –willed man rising before the sun, not to waste any daylight. He loved helping others and made sure his friends and family were always “full of fish!” He shared all that he had with those that he loved or was in need. He gave generously to all in a manner that was both thoughtful and unselfish. He did not expect or want thanks or accolades in return. “That was just Elmo.” All he did was done lovingly, compassionately, and genuinely.
Elmo had many friends that he formed over the 78 years that he lived on Wynn Island. He was loved and respected by a multitude of people. His wit and keen sense of humor could do nothing but make you love him. He loved his “grand-girls” unreservedly and wanted them all to “learn how to fish.”
