Graveside services for Frank “Briggs” Becton will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Riverview Cemetery on South Grand in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Briggs passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021. He was born on February 23, 1946, in West Monroe, LA. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Julia Anne McDonough Becton; his parents, Fred and Amy Becton; and brother, Fred Dale Becton.
He is survived by his sons, Eric Becton and wife Jonna of West Monroe, LA, and Kevin Becton and wife Carrie of Burleson, TX; sister, Ethel Becton Moore and husband Fred of Start, LA; grandchildren, Cole Becton, Hayden Becton, Justin Scott, Lauren Cotita Stuckey and Kendall Cotita; and great grandchildren, Kensley Wheelis, Presley Wheelis and Cayleigh Cotita.
He graduated from Ouachita High School in 1964. He joined the United States Navy in 1966. Briggs married Julia McDonough on February 14, 1969. They made their home in Monroe, LA, eventually relocating to West Monroe. He was a journeyman electrician, a member of the IBEW Local 446 and an officer of the Local Post 5 AMVETS.
