Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Frances Jane Jackson Weir will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 3, 2011 in the Feazel chapel at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Lonnie Stewart officiating. Frances was born January 7, 1915 in Crossett, Arkansas and passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on January 31, 2011. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Wednesday February 2, 2011.
Frances was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church West Monroe, where she served faithfully in the adult choir for more than 50 years. She was employed as a dental assistant for many years in the office of Dr. C. Palmer Jarrell, Sr.
Frances was preceded in death by Omer Weir, her husband of 70 years, her parents Chester Carl and Bonnie Glascoe Jackson, sister, Bonnie Jackson Boyd, brothers, Simon Carl, William B., and Lyle Jackson, niece Judy ball and nephews Walter D. Jackson and Michael L. Jackson.
She is survived by brothers-in-law, Harry Boyd, Hollis Weir, and James Weir; nieces, Nora Bean and husband Pete, Lynn York, Karen Jones and Husband Milton, as well as nephews Richard C. Jackson and wife Linda, William C. Jackson and wife Barbara, Murray A. Jackson and numerous great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ushers from the First Baptist Church in West Monroe, Tom McCandlish Sr., Sam Brinson, Russell Hart, Jerry Futch, Pete Leggett, Alton Williams. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bob Heflin.
The Family wishes to give special thanks to Rosemont Assisted Living especially Karen Traxler and Susan Morris, Doctors, and Hospice employees for their special care and love for Frances.
