Graveside funeral services for Mr. Fontaine Emmons, 88, of Sterlington, LA will be held at Noon Saturday February 4, 2017 at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM Saturday at Mulhearn’s.
Mr. Emmons was born January 8, 1929 and died February 1, 2017.
Fontaine retired from Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer after 43 years of service. He loved his job and his co-workers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening with his family and always a good book.
“Pop” was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Clara Emmons, Son, Raymon; Brothers, Winfred, Martel, and Bob.
Survivors: his wife and best friend of 72 years, Marsha; Daughter, Dena Leggett (Pete); much loved grandsons, Britton Leggett (Nicole) and Chad Leggett (Bonnie); Great Grandchildren, Emory-Cooper, John Peyton, and Adeline Jane; Sister, Elinor Hartsell (Bob); Brother, Glen; Sister-in-law, Lotte; and many nieces and nephews.
