Services for Floyd Lightsey, 84, of Mer Rouge, formerly of Monroe, will be at 2 PM, Thursday, July 25, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mr. Lightsey was born December 31, 1928 in Newellton, LA and died July 21, 2013 in Monroe, LA. His parents, Richard and Linnie Tew Lightsey; his wife, Bettye Gunther Lightsey; son, Gary Lightsey; and granddaughter, Mica Lightsey preceded him in death.
Floyd retired from Texas Gas Co. after 41 years of service. He also worked for Limousines Unlimited and Mulhearn Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, Perry Lightsey and wife Patricia of Fairbanks; daughter, Linda Walker; three grandchildren, Candy Upton, Jeremy Lightsey, and Carley Olivo; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rick Greer, Terry Head, Larry Kelly, Joe Mulhearn, Butch Mulhearn, Gus Antis, Troy Dennard and John Divers. Honorary pallbearers will be Texas Gas employees.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
