Born on February 25, 1924, in Ouachita Parish, Honey passed into the arms of Jesus on February 17,2025, at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia, LA. Honey was a retired Ouachita Parish School Board teacher, having taught the majority of her career at Lenwil Elementary. She touched the lives of countless young people throughout her time in education. In addition to her work as an educator, Honey was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in West Monroe, as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She cherished her family and friends deeply, and her laughter, stories, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew her. One of her greatest joys was watching her two grandchildren do anything and everything. Honey traveled the US and visited many baseball and softball parks just to watch Katie and Tom compete with and against their friends.
Honey is survived by her son, Billy and his wife Jane; granddaughter, Katie and husband Jerryd Roberts; grandson, Tom Biggs, special friend Laverne Bailey; several nieces and nephews, and the Parker grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Talmadge “Tack” and Mamie Martin Allen; husband, Wayne Biggs; brothers, Talmadge “Bill” Allen and wife Merle, and Rex “Lucky” Allen; and sisters, Lottie Allen and Margie and husband Roy McCandlish.
Pallbearers will be Mike Parker, Sam Parker, Scott Parker, Jerryd Roberts, Laron Owens, Brian Owens, and Tim Owens. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Mark Operario and US Marine SSgt. Michael Parker, Jr.
Special thanks to Dr. Mark Operario and the staff of Winters Clinic and Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Dr. Randy Head and the staff of Citizens Medical Center, and Centerwell Home Health.
