Fern Peck Whatley

Funeral services for Mrs. Fern Peck Whatley, 97, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Mrs. Whatley was born on September 1, 1923, in Bunker Hill, Kansas, and passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Whatley was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She retired as the Executive Secretary of Student Housing for NLU. She was a member of First United Methodist Church as well as Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a very active member and served on multiple boards in many capacities.

Mrs. Whatley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Caldwell Whatley, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Caldwell Whatley, Jr. (Ned); Hugh Walker Whatley III, Thomas Samuel Whatley; daughter, Laura Whatley Thomas; grandchildren, Ellen Marten, Doug Whatley, Lauren Whatley, Sarah Roark, Jonathan Thomas, Samantha Thomas; great grandchildren, Connor Whatley, Erin Whatley, Cooper Roark, and Eli Roark.

Pallbearers will be Ned Whatley, Hugh Whatley, Tom Whatley, Doug Whatley, Daniel Dryden, and Mike Nolan.
