Ferdinand Jacob Schaff, Jr.

Ferdinand Jacob Schaff, Jr., 93, a native New Orleanian and resident of West Monroe, LA for the past 17 years, passed away in West Monroe surrounded with love. He was the beloved husband of the late Ursula Bindewald Schaff for 63 years. A wonderful, loving father of the late Ferdinand (Kim), Janet Travis (Larry), Karl (Kathy), Warren (Sandra) and the late Gerard Schaff. Grandfather of Sarah, Hilary (Mitch), Jacob, Cody (Shelby), Hayley, Michael (Abi), Olivia, Evan, Reid, and the late Victoria Schaff. Great-grandfather of Leo, Henry, Emilia and George. He was preceded in death by his parents Ferdinand J. Schaff, Sr. and Sarah Lory Schaff; and his sister, Sr. Lory Schaff, C.S.J.  Brother-in-law of June Ramoneda (the late John), Sr. Andrée M. Bindewald, O. Carm., the late David Bindewald (Letty), Beth Bindewald; the lates Joyce Cambias (Jerry), Beryl Theriot (Bill), Joseph Bindewald (Kathy), and Michael Bindewald.

Ferd was a graduate from Tulane University and spent his career at Southern Cotton Oil, Wesson Oil and Louisiana Land & Exploration. His family, friends and faith were at the heart of everything he did, and his sweet humor will be sorely missed.

A memorial rosary will be prayed at St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe on Friday, January 12, 2024, beginning at 6:00 P.M.  A funeral mass and interment will be held on Saturday, January 27, in New Orleans, LA.
