Evelyn Barron Girod

Funeral services for Evelyn Barron Girod, 77, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Palestine Baptist Church in Chatham, with Bro. Jerry Salsbury officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Evelyn was born on February 7, 1944 in Monroe, LA to Allen and Bertie Barron. She passed from this life on March 19, 2021 in Monroe, LA.

Evelyn enjoyed working in her yard, sitting on her patio taking care of her birds and squirrels, and she loved to paint. She enjoyed spending time with her family even more.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Girod; and parents, Allen and Bertie Barron.

Those left behind to cherish her memory, are her son, Jimmy Girod; daughter, Wendall Gilmore; grandchildren, Brandy Lenard and husband, Marcus, and Brandon Gilmore and fiancé, Tiffany; great grandchildren, Bryson Gilmore, and Avery Lenard; sisters, Lois DeLancy, and Louise Koprek; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be James Girod, Bryan Girod, Hank Boyles, Steve DeLancy, Marcus Lenard, and Gary Watts.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm, Monday, March 22, 2021 at the church.
