Graveside Services for Mrs. Evalyn Stelling, 91, of Franklin, TN, will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 29, 2021, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Warren Eckhardt and Peyton Henry officiating.
Mrs. Stelling was born May 26, 1930 and passed away on September 9, 2021. She was a proud patriot who served our country in the United States Army. Mrs. Stelling was of the Church of Christ faith.
She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed listening to music. Mrs. Stelling was an avid sports fan and was especially known for her love of the Alabama Crimson Tide! She was an active Republican. She enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and volunteer work for the soup kitchen. She worked as a Women’s Army Corp stenographer/secretary, Geriatrics aid, Government Refugee Resettlement camps (various positions including Director), Social worker for Georgia AGAPE (Christian adoption and foster care agency), small business owner of Center Stage Dancewear I and II in Marietta, GA and Franklin, TN.
She is preceded in death by parents, Virgil Quay and Grovie Mae Odom Gurganus; three brothers, four sisters (one twin.); and her son, David Lanier Raymond.
Survivors include her three children, Dickie Raymond, and wife Shannon, Lisa Chesley and husband Jay, Becky Henry and husband Tracy; nine grandchildren, Trey Raymond, Anna Raymond, Mandy Murphy and husband Phillip, Bekah Kerley and husband Brian, Brett Henry and wife Charity, Peyton Henry and wife Brittany, Blake Henry, Somer Henry, and Caroline Henry; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
