Funeral services celebrating the life of Eva Gertrude Miller Graves, 90, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Michi Head and Rev. Austin Rinehart officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Graves was born on December 31, 1931, in Midway, LA and passed away at her residence on December 12, 2022. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Graves was a member of McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA for 67 years. She sang in the choir and was a member of the Edith Smith Group of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Graves enjoyed reading in her Bible and her daily devotions. Writing down her thoughts and prayers in her Journal were a great part of her daily routine. Mrs. Graves was a member of the Claiborne Home Demonstration for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Graves Jr.; parents, Jesse Samuel and Eva Gertrude “Gertie” Lewis Miller; brothers, J.D. Miller, and Jesse Miller; sisters, Vernita “Sweet” Alexander and Alice Evans Pipes.
Survivors include her daughters, LaDonna Graves Hixon and husband, Richard and Karen Graves Barron and husband, Alan; grandchildren, Jayde Hixon and wife, Jeigh, Hailey Hixon, and Cody Barron; great grandchildren, Maria Hixon and Randi Hixon; sister, Anita Miller Bourgeois; numerous nieces and nephews; her special friend, Nancy Head; and her grandpuppies.
Pallbearers will be George Thames, Ricky Sims, Joey Telano, Daniel Pearson, Seth Bivens and Jason Amato. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Evans, Brandon Amato, Greg Amato, Jayde Hixon, Cody Barron, and Bentley Hearn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until Service Time on Wednesday.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ronald Hammett, the staffs of Alpha Care and Heart of Hospice for all the care provided to Mrs. Graves during this time.
