Eva Joy Smith

Funeral Services celebrating the life of Eva Joy Smith, 84, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Christ Church, West Monroe with Pastor Tom Lowe officiating. Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Eva Joy Lent Smith was born in Monroe, LA on December 21, 1937 to Isaac Avor and Bessie Godwin Lent. She passed away after a brief illness on December 24, 2021. Eva Joy was known for helping anyone she could in need. Her home was always open. She taught a Bible class, did prison ministry, and had Bible study groups in their home. Her smile revealed who she was, a joyful lady who loved God, her family, and people. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Bessie Lent; and sister, Wanda Shambro.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Steve Benson Smith; children, Marci Lynn Goza and husband Hutson Lee, Jeff Daniel and wife Cheryl, David Daniel and wife Angela, Lorie Lecocq and husband Lance, Angie Todd and husband Tim, and Doug Smith and wife Sherry; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Mona Humble; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Austin Helms, Jonathan Daniel, Austin Daniel, Steve Lecocq, Bobby Joe Snell, Luke Todd, and Tyler Powell.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until service time on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Christ Church, West Monroe.
