Funeral Services for Ethel ImaJean Hinton Moak, 88, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Ouachita Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Ouachita Baptist Church, 824 Cheniere Lake Road, West Monroe.
Ethel was born August 5, 1935, in Natchitoches Parish to Franklin and Alice Hinton and passed away February 13, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Ethel was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years until she moved to West Monroe, LA, to live with her son, Wayne Musselwhite. She then became a member of Ouachita Baptist Church. She graduated from Natchitoches High School and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, worthy matron. Throughout the years, Ethel worked with girl scouts, where she found a love for camping. Ethel housed three generations, her daughters, granddaughters, and great granddaughters. She adored spending time with all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Ethel delighted in arts and crafts and painting. She also spent many years working as a bookkeeper for Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Natchitoches. Ethel spent time in McComb, MS, working as the district manager for Avon Co. She had many other jobs throughout her lifetime such as Pike Co., Walthole Co., and Marion Co. She also spent time in Washington Parish. Ethel truly loved her family and working in the church.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Alice Hinton; her daughter, Phyllis Lofton; her brothers, Mickey D. Hinton and wife, Charolett, Danny Hinton and wife, Juanita, and Ben Hinton and wife, Mary; sisters, Cleo Butler and Audria Doughty; two great grandchildren, Lanie Babin and Lincoln Salpetra; her first husband, Robert Musselwhite, Sr.; and her second husband, Franklin Moak.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wayne Musselwhite and Robert Musselwhite and his wife, Debbie; her daughter, Susan Pigott and her husband, Darren; her three stepchildren, Victoria Deere, Ronald Moak, and Walter Moak; her two brothers, Niel Hinton and Jerald Hinton; her sister, Gloria Perino; daughter-in-law, Wanda Fay Carpenter; her ten grandchildren and their spouses; fifteen great grandchildren; and her three great-great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Matt Mills, Steve Albritton, Eddie Halbrook, Hugh Hodge, and Ron Franklin.
