Ernestine "Tennie" Delaney

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Ernestine E. “Tennie” Delaney, 84, of Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Richard McAdams and Rev. Larry Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.

Mrs. Delaney was born October 13, 1937 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2022. She was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church. Mrs. Delaney enjoyed making floral arrangements for the church. She sang in the Gospel Group, Humbly Yours, from 1994-2000. Tennie enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bell Ezell; brother, Jimmy Ezell; daughter, June Carol Rushing; granddaughter, Dennitia Rushing; son, Jimmy H. “Bo” McClelland; and husband, Charlie “Fred” Delaney.

Survivors include her children, Carol Ann Walker (Jerry), Charles Michael Rushing (Christa), Dennis Ray Rushing (Debbie), Vickie Rene` McAdams (Richard), Tina Louise Hunter (Eddie), Donna Kay Townsend (Larry), fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Louise Whited; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Pallbearers will be Lance Hunter, Brad McAdams, Jacob McAdams, Aaron Townsend, Phillip Skipper, and Duane Tharp. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charlie McAdams.

Memorials may be made to the Anchor Baptist Church, 101 Sandel Drive, Monroe, LA 71203.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.

She will be missed by many!
