Ernestine Virginia Shirey George

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ernestine Virginia Shirey George, 87, of Sulphur, LA, formerly of Dubach, LA, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro.

Mrs. George was born August 30, 1935, and passed away on July 15, 2023. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Choudrant. Mrs. George worked for State Farm for 40+ years, retiring at the age of 76. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, vacationing, but most of all spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, C L Shirey and Ethel Davidson Shirey; husband, L C George; and sister, Laferne Aldridge.

Survivors include daughter, Debbie Causey and husband, Rickey;  son, Mike George and wife Angela; four grandchildren, Michele Joiner and husband, Barry, Lee Dowdy and wife, Kim, Brandon George and wife, Sara, and Jessica Oliver and husband, Shannon; 14 great-grandchildren; as well  as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday July 19, 2023, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
