Funeral services for Emily Rose Guynn Oliveaux, 74, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Oliveaux was born April 27, 1944, in Richland Parish, LA, and passed away Monday, February 11, 2019, at her residence surrounded by family. She worked for the parish school board as cafeteria manager for 30 years. She was a picture of unconditional love and had an open door and open heart for everyone.
Mrs. Oliveaux was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Mabel Guynn; granddaughter, July Sunset Oliveaux; and 6 siblings, Bea Linder, Esther Ruby Bales, Edith Elizabeth Taylor, Mary Frances Hilliard, Ethel Dickens, and Jimmy Guynn.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Sam Oliveaux; son, Darrell “Rooster” Oliveaux and wife Jamie; grandson and partner in crime, Clay Oliveaux; sister, Bethel Day; brother, John Guynn and wife Marie; special niece, Rachal Moore Brantley who helped take care of her the final week of her life; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Linder, Alvin Eugene Taylor, Lee Ingram, Chris Brantley, David Guynn, and Cassidy Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Hilliard and Isaac Moore.
