Elzy Lavelle "Rob" Roberson

Graveside services for Elzy Lavelle (Rob) Roberson, 96, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Hasley Cemetery with Dr. Mark Fenn officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Roberson died December 9, 2020, at the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran’s Home after a brief illness.

Mr. Roberson was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in West Monroe, where he served in various capacities. He was a faithful Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Rob retired as Vice-President of Traffic & Accounting with A&LM Railway Company after 37 years of service. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II as an aviation machinist 3rd Class. Rob was also a member of The Gideons International, as well as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Freemason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Roberson; his parents, Leonard and Mary Wilba Roberson; and his son, Robert L. (Bobby) Roberson.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy J. Hale (Steve), Susie Roberson (Sharon), and Mary E. Dawson (Rick); son, Dewy Lamar (Tommy) Thompson (Merry); daughter-in-law, Patsy Roberson; grandchildren, Buddy Roberson, Jennifer Duplantis, Amanda Whitlock, Todd Hale, Taylor Dawson, Cory Thompson, Kyle Thompson, and Erin Ely, and twelve great grandchildren.
