Elton Breaux, 78, died on June 10, 2018, in West Monroe, LA, after an extended illness. His funeral service will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin, LA on Thursday, June 14th starting a 1:00 P.M. and with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Thursday. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
Elton was born June 24, 1940, in Franklin. He graduated from Franklin High School before entering the army. He was stationed at West Point Military Academy in New York as a military policeman. He later joined the Louisiana State Police and served there until his retirement with the rank of Lieutenant. He spent most of his adult life in Northeast Louisiana working his land and raising his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lola Ketchens Breaux, and her daughter, Misty Moore and Misty’s three children, Sierra, Shelby and Joshua; his two sons, Randy and wife Treshan, and Tim and wife Nancy; his grandchildren, Justin and wife Erica, Ellie Thomas and husband Preston, Carter Breaux, Dustin Breaux and wife Kayla; great grandchildren, Breanna Michelle, Destin Riley and Zoey Regan; his brother, Clyde Breaux and wife Veronica; and two sisters, Carolyn Robiceaux and husband Glenn, and Jacklyn Spangler and husband Reid.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elton Sr. and Annie Mae; his brother, Kearney; and his granddaughter, Stephanie.
Special thanks to the Administration, staff and to Dr. Brian Krier at the Guest House Nursing and Rehabilitation for their kindness and compassion. Also, extra special thanks to the nurses and aides on the Trenton Community for all of the wonderful care, love and gentleness given to not only Elton, but to his family as well.
