Funeral services for Ella Faye Beasley Wheeler, 76, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 18, 2016, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Union Parish, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Ella Faye was born on November 12, 1939, in Union Parish, Louisiana, to Samuel Robert Beasley and Christine Pilgreen Beasley. Ella Faye went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Ella Faye was a long time member of North Monroe Baptist Church. She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1957 and attended business school in Monroe. She began her career working as a legal secretary. She later joined the Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court’s office and became a court reporter. Ella Faye retired after over thirty years as the Chief Court Reporter for Ouachita Parish. Some of Ella Faye’s fondest memories were from her friendships and working relationship with the judges and lawyers in the Fourth District with whom she worked during her time as a legal secretary and court reporter.
Ella Faye married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Earl Wheeler, on July 29, 1960. She became a wonderful and selfless mother to Kenneth Douglas Wheeler and Kathryn Ann Wheeler Bradford. Ella Faye’s greatest joy in life and most proud accomplishment was being a grandmother or “Memmie” as she was known to her four precious grandchildren.
Ella Faye was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Robert Beasley and her mother, Christine Pilgreen Beasley.
Ella Faye is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Earl Wheeler; son Kenneth Douglas Wheeler and wife, Katy; daughter, Kathryn Ann Wheeler Bradford and husband Jon. Also by her grandchildren, Almira Kathryn Bradford, Sarah Elizabeth Bradford, Ethan Shaw Wheeler and Colleen Corinne Wheeler; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Wheeler, Randy Ludlow, Larry Ludlow, Byron Kitchens, Scott Bradford and Jon Bradford.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Building Fund.
