Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Elizabeth Shipp, 77, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Christian Life Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Danny Chance and Rev. Artie Beebe officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at Christian Life Church. If you are unable to attend, the service will be live streamed at www.clc.org.
Liz was born June 19, 1944, to the union of Bennie and Opal Gallups. She passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, after a lengthy battle with Dementia.
Liz, affectionately known as Mom and Mamaw, was born in Willits, CA. When Liz was just 16 years old, she met the love of her life, Claven. Together they built their life in West Monroe, LA. They were married for 61 years. They truly loved each other with all their hearts.
Liz was a member of Christian Life Church in Monroe, LA, for over 50 years. She was an extraordinary Sunday school teacher for many years.
She retired from Friendly Finance, as an Office Manager. She worked at the Winnsboro Road location for 30+ years.
Liz and Claven enjoyed traveling with their best friends, Austin and Margaret Eubanks and playing dominos. Liz also loved to cook for her family and friends. Mom/Mamaw loved her family with all that she had. She made sure to make each one feel special. Mom/Mamaw was a caregiver. She loved to take care of others.
Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Claven G. Shipp; brother, Carl Gallups, and her parents; Bennie and Opal Gallups.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Eddie Glenn Shipp, Pamela Renee Heard (Bill), and Joyce Beth Beebe (Art); Sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Frost (Glenn); Grandchildren, Cherie Siratt (Mark), Byron Boothe (Courtney), Justin Shipp, Kacie Beebe, Tracie Mendolia (Bryant), Koby Boothe, Sara Beth Shipp, and Nicholas Boothe; great grandchildren, Emma and Hudson Siratt, Ethan and Addison Shipp, Tinley Mendolia and Adeline Elizabeth Boothe.
Pallbearers will be Justin Shipp, Koby Boothe, Nick Boothe, Mark Siratt, Byron Boothe, Hudson Siratt, and Chris Eubanks.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie McManus, Robert Guess, Jimmy Myers, and Woody Norris.
